Workforce Equality Workforce EqualitySince 1963, equal pay has been the law. More than 40 years later however, women are still paid less than men. NJ women can expect to earn 20% less than men in the same position with similar education, skills and experience. These figures are even worse however, for women of color. Over a lifetime, a woman will earn hundreds of thousands of dollars less than their male counterparts, and it is unacceptable that women are not receiving equal pay for equal work. The inequity does not end with pay, but also includes pensions and benefits. Equal pay isn't just a women's issue, but when women get equal pay the whole family benefits. I will continue to support legislation to close the pay gap and better enforce equality in the workforce for women. Learn more about my support for women's equality:110th Legislation
