Women's Issues Women's IssuesWe have made significant progress in closing the women's equality gap in this country--whether through the women's suffrage movement, the ERA initiative, or the fight for equal pay. Still, in the dawn of the 21st century, there are a number of challenges threatening women's rights, among them the threat to women's reproductive rights and inequality in the workforce. Women are also far too often the victims of violence. Women deserve family-friendly, fair, and equal workplaces; the right to choose to make decisions regarding their own body and reproduction; as well as the protection from violent predators. I will continue to fight to protect women's rights and promote equality, whether it's in the halls of Congress or on the bench in the Supreme Court. Ensuring Workforce EqualitySince 1963, equal pay has been the law. More than 40 years later however, women are still paid less than men. Click here to learn more about my work toward ensuring workforce equality.
Protecting Women from ViolenceViolence against women is a serious problem plaguing the world's women and young girls, and can include physical, sexual, domestic, emotional, verbal, or other forms of violence. Click here to learn more about my work to stop violence against women.
