Senator Menendez addresses Edison Township Seniors

One of the most important issues I have worked on during my tenure in Congress is meeting the needs of our nation's seniors. Senior citizens deserve access to affordable, quality health care, including comprehensive prescription drug coverage and support for their family caregivers.

The retirement of the baby boomers, increased life expectancy, and the rising cost of medical care are projected to place additional demands on entitlement programs, and we should address the challenge in a responsible, bipartisan way. We can do better for New Jersey's seniors. By working together now, we can ensure that seniors are afforded the health care, the drug benefits, and the retirement protection they deserve.

Strengthening Social Security

I strongly believe that we must not only protect, but strengthen Social Security. We certainly should not privatize a program that has worked for so many years and for so many people. Click here to learn about my work to protect Social Security benefits.

Providing Long Term Care

As the son of a mother suffering from Alzheimer's, I understand first-hand the challenges of providing long term care for a loved one, and I have heard from many New Jersey families facing similar circumstances.Click here to learn more about my work on long term care.

Protecting Medicare and Providing Affordable Prescription Drugs

Without a doubt, the issue seniors tell me they are most concerned about is the cost of their health care and getting access to affordable medications. Click here to learn more about my work on Medicare and prescription drugs.
